Licensing

To operate a MOVIKIT^® Robotics add-on LargeModels kinematic model, the corresponding control software and one MOVIKIT^® Robotics add-on LargeModels license per robot instance are required.

The license of the MOVIKIT® Robotics add-on LargeModels as well as the associated LargeModels control software are covered by the currently valid lists of goods (Annex I DUVO 428/2009, list number 2D002) because together they can coordinate more than 4 interpolating axes or at least 2 rotational degrees of freedom on the tool flange simultaneously with "path control". The commercial documents contain an indication of dual-use relevance by mentioning the export list number AL‑No. 2D002. Customers are subsequently responsible for the lawful handling themselves.

The LargeModels control software is not automatically installed with MOVISUITE^® and must be purchased separately. A separate USB stick with the corresponding control software is available for each kinematic model concerned. The USB stick does not have any dongle functionality. In other words, there is no need for the USB stick to be inserted in the engineering PC or the MOVI-C^® CONTROLLER during control mode. The USB stick only needs to be purchased once per kinematic model and application. Any number of robot instances can be operated with it.

The control software is integrated into the MOVISUITE^® project. As long as the control software for the selected LargeModels kinematic model is not installed on the engineering PC, the update of the IEC project aborts with the error 'The object "SEW MOVIKIT Robotics LM …" of type "PLCLibrary" could not be created' displayed in the message window of the IEC Editor.

The software license for the MOVIKIT^® Robotics add-on LargeModels cannot be activated as a test license. However, software licenses can be purchased later and can then be activated on a memory card. Other software licenses can also be combined and activated at a later date.

The dual-use relevant control software is included in the library repository after installation and is integrated in a MOVISUITE^® project or project archive (project file *.msproj or project export *.mspro) exactly when the control software for controlling a LargeModels kinematic model is included in the library manager. This is the case if a LargeModels kinematic model is configured or has previously been configured in MOVISUITE^® in the project concerned and the IEC project has been updated, or if the control software has been manually integrated in the library manager. The recipient of such a MOVISUITE^® project or project archive has access to the control software contained therein. Customers are responsible for the lawfulness of passing on dual-use related controller software with such a project/project archive themselves.

On the other hand, libraries that are not included in the library manager are not included in the project archive and are therefore not passed on with a MOVISUITE^® project (e.g. to control another machine without dual-use relevant software).

Do not archive the MOVISUITE^® project or save the project archive on the memory card (use the "Load source code to controller" function in the "File" menu of the IEC Editor and MOVISUITE^® Data Restore) or deactivate it if unauthorized persons have access to the memory card.

The version of the LargeModels control software can be seen from the release date of the USB stick and the version number of the software package. If a newer output level is required, a new USB stick must be purchased.
