WARNING

Device malfunction due to incorrect device setting.
Severe or fatal injuries, damage to property.
  • Observe the startup instructions.
  • Always have the installation carried out by trained specialists.
  • Only use settings that are correct for the function.

The function module is equipped with monitoring functions. The monitoring works in 3 stages:

Voltage monitoring

The DC 48 V motor supply voltage is monitored. If the voltage is higher or lower than the limit values, a warning or an error is reported via 0x8100-02 – Status word. In the event of an error, the function module triggers a configurable error response.

Temperature monitoring

The function module is equipped with internal temperature monitoring of the μ-controller and the output stage. You can define limit temperatures in the object list. If a limit value is exceeded or not reached, the module triggers a configurable error response, 0x8780-02 – Temperatures – µ-controller actual value.

Current monitoring

The current carried by the output stages in the motor windings is monitored. The setpoint current 0x8600-03 – Current – Setpoint is limited to a configurable value 0x8600-04 – Current limit and reported via 0x8100-02 – Status word if a limit is active. If the actual current exceeds the permissible motor current 0x8C00-04 – Motor parameters – Maximum current, the module triggers a configurable error response.

Position monitoring

The module monitors the travel path during a positioning operation. When a target position is specified, it is limited and not accepted if a configurable limit value is exceeded in the positive or negative direction of movement. You receive feedback about an active limit via 0x8100-02 – Status word.

Speed monitoring

The module monitors the speed. The setpoint speed is limited to a configurable value and reported via 0x8100-02 – Status word if a limit is active.

Error response

In the event of an error, the function module performs an error response. You can configure the error response. You have the following options:

INFORMATION

You can reset the error bits with edge 0 – 1 of "0x8100-01 control word".

A list of all errors that can trigger an error response can be found in chapter 0x8100-03 – Error code.
