Service work on the energy storage cabinet
INFORMATION

Perform the following work only if the energy storage cabinet is in safe state.
Observe chapter Discharging energy storage units before service work for this purpose.

WARNING

The energy storage units are still charged after the device has been switched off.
Severe or fatal injuries due to electric shock.
- The energy storage units must be discharged before you perform any work on the device.
- Only electrically skilled persons are permitted to discharge the energy storage unit and install the short circuit connector.

CAUTION

Risk of injury from arcing during a high-energy discharge (between two conductive metals).
Minor injuries.
- Make sure control cabinets are kept closed unless electrical components are de-energized.
- Disconnect any energy storage units such as accumulators from the electronics. Observe the measures for shutdown of the products used.
- Switch off other voltage sources.
- Before switching on the product, make sure that the protective cover is in place over the connections.
- Ensure that the product is insulated as far as possible and that no conductive foreign bodies can penetrate.

WARNING

Electric shock when connecting or disconnecting energized power connections.
Severe or fatal injuries.
- Disconnect all supply voltages.
- Make sure that the devices of the system are de-energized.
- Never connect or disconnect the power connections while they are energized.
- Never disconnect the power connections if you do not know the actual state of charge of the energy storage unit.
- Discharge the energy storage units to less than 3 V before disconnecting them from the DC link.

WARNING

Ineffective disconnection from the grid due to charged storage units.
Severe or fatal injuries.
- Disconnect all supply voltages.
- Make sure that the devices of the system are de-energized.
- Discharge the energy storage units using a braking resistor or a discharge unit from SEW-EURODRIVE.
- Short-circuit the energy storage units after discharging.
Observe the causes and corrective measures for the error codes in the "Error Codes – MOVIKIT® Software Modules" manual. They can indicate which parts need to be replaced on the energy storage unit. Perform an error analysis to determine the defective component.
