Startup on the CIP Safety™ safety protocol

The safety option supports 2 types of startup in a CIP Safety™ network. The selection is made via the Address assignment mode parameter with the two parameter settings "Via CIP Safety™ originator" and "Via parameterization". In the delivery state, the Address assignment mode parameter is set to "Via CIP Safety™ originator". The startup can thereby be performed via the engineering tool of the fail-safe controller.

After startup, the user must make sure that the fail-safe controller and the safety option are correctly configured. The user must perform user tests to verify whether the configuration data was properly downloaded. All address parameters are configured by a fail-safe controller or its engineering tool using CIP mechanisms.
