Connecting the signal cable
Each MOVI-DPS® EKS storage unit has a diagnostic interface. The MDP92A power supply module or the MDE90A DC/DC converter module monitors the signals. Signal cables of different lengths are available for connecting the interfaces. The maximum permitted cable length is 30 m. For more information, refer to chapter Electrical connections.
The following figure schematically illustrates the routing of the signal cables:

Make sure that a jumper plug is inserted at the last storage unit of the storage bundle in socket X5221. The jumper plug is included in the scope of delivery of a MOVI‑DPS® EKV storage bundle.
For information on the available connection cables and connection components (e.g. jumper plugs, T-connectors, etc.) from SEW-EURODRIVE, refer to chapter Electrical connections.
You need a cable with an open end for connecting the first storage unit to the MOVIDRIVE® modular MDP92A-.. power supply module or a DC/DC converter module MDE90A-.. or an I/O module.
You can use a connection cable from SEW-EURODRIVE for this purpose and cut off the connector that is not required.
Alternatively, Phoenix Contact offers suitable cables which can be ordered directly from Phoenix Contact using the specified part number:

You can connect a maximum of 24 energy storage modules to the MOVIDRIVE® modular MDP92A-.. power supply module and to the MDE90A-.. DC/DC converter module.
