DC voltage supply
This supply concept is specifically tailored to the requirements of machine automation and has become the standard in permanent magnet brakes and lightweight spring-loaded brakes in particular.
In doing so, the brake is connected directly or with the aid of the BMV5.0 brake control or the integrated BS1Z brake control with MOVILINK® DDI to a DC 24 V voltage source, as is often present in large control cabinets.
Connection topologies with DC supply provide the following application benefits:
- Uniform coil design regardless of the local low-voltage supply
- Benefits regarding insulation and electrical clearances (protective extra-low voltage)
- No additional brake control is required
- High-speed brake application without additional switch contacts comes standard
- Suitable for mobile systems with extra-low‑voltage onboard power supply
