Energy topologies
In most applications, there are situations where regenerative travel sections are created, e.g. due to a vertical drive moving downwards or a horizontal drive slowing down. In regenerative travel sections, the motor feeds back energy to the frequency inverter's DC link and the DC link voltage increases. Only in few cases is the regenerative energy so low that it can be stored in the frequency inverter's DC link capacities. As a rule, the DC link voltage increases to an inadmissibly high value and causes an error response. There are several possible solutions to prevent this error response.
