Active sensors (two-channel)

When connecting a two-channel sensor with additional voltage supply, the voltage is supplied via an external DC 24 V power supply unit. The voltage supplies of the sensor outputs are connected to the F-SS0 sensor supply. The safe outputs of the sensor have a dual-channel connection to the safe digital input (F-DI00) at terminal X5601.

Settings in the "Assist CS.." parameterization tool:

  • Choose the 2-channel connection type (equivalent/non-equivalent).
  • Activate or deactivate the pulsed sensor voltage supply, depending on the safety requirements.
  • Parameterize the permitted discrepancy time between the two input signals of the sensor you are using.

The following figure shows the MOVISAFE® CS..A safety option with an active sensor (two-channel).

Operation with activated line diagnostics

The following faults are detected:

  • Crossfault between a digital input line F-DI00 and a sensor supply line not assigned to input F-DI00
  • Crossfault between an F-SS0 sensor supply line and a 24‑V supply voltage if the digital input F-DI00 is assigned to the sensor supply and the switch contact belonging to F-DI00 is closed

WARNING

The MOVISAFE® CS..A safety option cannot detect a short circuit between an F-SS0 sensor supply and safe digital input F-DI00 (sensor jumpered).
Severe or fatal injuries.
  • Make sure that a short circuit between the F-SS0 sensor supply and the safe digital input F-DI00 is not possible.

WARNING

If line diagnostics is deactivated, the MOVISAFE® CS..A safety option cannot detect crossfaults in the cabling.
Severe or fatal injuries.
  • Make sure that crossfaults are not possible at the safe digital input F-DI00, or that they can be detected by the sensor.
