0x8400-02 – Position profile target position

For the "PtP position profile" operating mode, the new target position is specified in user units in this object. This object can also be found in the input/output area and cannot be written using the "acyclical channel". Positioning is active if:

• The "PtP position profile" operating mode is selected

• The system function module is in the "Operation enabled" state

It is not necessary to start positioning explicitly using "0x8100-01 – Control word". 0x8400-02 can be changed while positioning is in progress or after the target position has been reached and positioning to the new target value begins. Further objects of index group 0x8400 are required to fully configure and execute positioning.
