Optimizing a motor

INFORMATION

The measured values must be transferred to the function module each time the head module is restarted. This can be done via the "acyclical channel," for example.

Perform the following steps to best optimize a motor.

  1. Decouple the load from the motor.
  2. Set the motor to "Full step mode" by deactivating "Microstepping."
  3. Enter 0 for the setpoint position.
    • Only one winding is energized.
  4. Display the current in the energized winding on the oscilloscope.
  5. Generate a jump, e.g. using a load-cycling program with a single step.
    • You will receive a response to the jump.
  6. Determine the "P" and "I" factors of the controller and adjust them if necessary until the transient response comes to a rest without overshoot after 2 cycles.
  7. Activate "Microstepping" again.
