Positioning accuracy is not achieved

  • If the positioning operation is not accurate enough when the SEW‑EURODRIVE recommended value for the maximum P gain of the position controller is reached, but the system does not oscillate, increase the "Stiffness of the control" setting under [Drive trains] > [Optimization AS1] > [Dynamic behavior].
  1. To do this, first reduce the P gain of the position controller as described in Step 7: Optimize the configuration value for the P gain of the position controller (optional), and then gradually increase the P gain of the position controller until the desired positioning accuracy is achieved.
  • Note that each time the "Stiffness of the control" or "Backlash" setting is changed, a new SEW‑EURODRIVE recommended value for the P gain of the position controller is calculated immediately. It is possible to lock the P gain parameter of the position controller using the lock icon next to the parameter so that the value is not adjusted when the "Stiffness of the control" or "Backlash" setting is changed.
