Connecting external 24 V supply voltage

Proceed as follows:

  • The external 24 V voltage supply can either be connected directly to the DC 24 V connection X5 or to terminal X5_A at the MDM90A master module.
  1. Connect the external 24 V supply voltage as follows:
    • At one side on the power supply module, on the master module or on the last axis module in the axis system
    • At two sides on the power supply module or master module and on the last axis module in the axis system. Arrange the interruption point of the electronics supply for a two-sided supply so that the current load of the 2 segments is divided symmetrically. If you use 2 separate power supply units, make sure that both power supply outputs have the same reference potential.
  2. Select the cross section of the supply cable according to the power demand of the devices to be supplied. Observe the information in chapter Project planning.
  3. Note that the maximum permissible length of the 24 V supply cable is 30 m.
