Startup using the virtual DIP switch

You can start up a drive train with a MOVIONE® decentralized inverter using the virtual DIP switch. Startup is designed for use in the higher-level controller of the application.

The motor assignment is made by parameterizing the 8425.20 parameter in accordance with the following table:

Parameter 8425.20

Motor
series

Motor size

Motor length

Connection type

Speed class

Brake voltage

Brake type

Bits 21 – 24

Bits 17 – 20

Bits 13 – 24

Bits 10 – 12

Bits 7 – 9

Bits 4 – 6

Bits 0 – 3

You perform the startup via the virtual DIP switch by completely parameterizing parameter 8425.20 in your controller with an existing SEW motor/brake combination.

Startup is only possible for selected sizes of the DRN.. and DR2C..A motor series with and without an SEW brake.

For the permitted combinations for the startup (parameterization) of a virtual DIP switch, refer to chapter Motor selection table for startup with virtual DIP switch.

You can find a PLC sample project on the SEW-EURODRIVE website here: www.seweurodrive.com > Online Support > Data & documents > Software > Software category: PLC sample projects.

INFORMATION

Startup using the virtual DIP switch is effective at any time and can overwrite all other startup operations.
