Parallel connection via connection X5_A

When establishing the parallel connection of 3 to 6 switched-mode power supply modules, of which at least one device is to supply both MOVIDRIVE® modular devices and external consumers, note the following:

  1. Only connect one device to the 24 V supply voltage connection of the MOVIDRIVE® modular devices.
  2. Note the following specifications regarding the cable cross section and fusing.

When establishing the parallel connection of 3 to 6 switched-mode power supply modules via connector X5_A, the cable cross sections must be selected according to the current carrying capacity of the cables. In any case, the cable cross section must be at least 4 mm2. The F1 - F7 fuses shown above must meet the following requirements:

  • Nominal voltage: ≥ 30 V
  • Rated current: 25 A

The fuses protect the switched-mode power supply modules against overcurrent and destruction. External consumers are not protected against overcurrent by this type of fusing.

When establishing the parallel connection of 3 to 6 switched-mode power supply modules, only the first switched-mode power supply module may be connected to the axis system in addition to the power supply module via the 24 V connection. This device must also have a fuse in the GND signal of connector X5_A at 24 V output X5_A in addition to the fuse in the +24 V signal.
