Parallel connection via busbar

The parallel connection of 2 switched-mode power supply modules via the 24 V supply voltage connection of MOVIDRIVE^® modular devices is permitted. As a result, a power rating of 2 × 540 W is available to supply MOVIDRIVE^® modular devices as well as any connected external 24 V consumers.

The parallel connection of more than 2 switched-mode power supply modules via the 24 V supply voltage connection of MOVIDRIVE^® modular devices is generally not permitted.

In addition to the 2 switched-mode power supply modules with busbar, up to 4 additional switched-mode power supply modules can be used to supply external 24 V consumers that are connected in parallel via connection X5_A of the devices. In this case, however, the parallel connection of both devices via busbar must be completely independent of the parallel connection of up to 4 devices via cable connection.

When cabling up to 4 devices, select the cable cross sections according to the current carrying capacity of the cables. In any case, the cable cross section for the connection to connector X5_A must be at least 4 mm². Safeguard these devices with a fuse according to the following requirements:

• Nominal voltage: ≥ 30 V
• Rated current: 25 A

The fuses protect the switched-mode power supply modules against overcurrent and destruction. External consumers are not protected against overcurrent by this type of fusing.
