Activation without supply system connection

When using MOVIKIT^® software modules for the storage unit synchronization function described in the previous chapter, the power supply system must be present. If it is necessary to start the application without the power supply system present, provide a power resistor in the negative wire of the storage unit connection. This power resistor is also referred to as an inrush current limiter (ICL).

The switched side is pre-charged via this power resistor. When pre-charging is complete, the power resistor is bridged by the DC contactor.

The entire process is monitored and controlled using the measuring line at connection "-ES" (for MDP92A) or "-ESA/-ESB" (for MDE90A). This process must be programmed manually until further notice. Contact SEW-EURODRIVE if necessary.

Use the power resistor of type BW004-001 with part number 25766058 for this pre-charging.

It is possible to supply an MDS90A 24 V switched-mode power supply module via the power resistor during pre-charging.
