Procedure in the event of failure to perform regular maintenance with the MDC90A
Electrolytic capacitors are used in the MDC90A which are subject to an aging effect when de-energized. This effect can lead to damage to the electrolytic capacitors if the device is stored at temperatures exceeding 35 °C and then operated directly at its nominal voltage.
In this case, SEW-EURODRIVE recommends that you increase the operating voltage up to the maximum voltage slowly. This can be carried out, for example, using local setpoints via FCB55 "Voltage operation" of the MDP92A/MDE90A. The setpoints must be set in accordance with the following overview when doing this.
After you have completed the regeneration process, the device can be used immediately or stored again.
DC link voltage or operating voltage of the MDC90A with the following graduation:
- Stage 1: 0 V to DC 450 V, increase in steps of 150 V.
- Keep the voltage constant for at least 2 minutes after each step.
- Stage 2: DC 450 V to 650 V, increase in steps of 100 V.
- Keep the voltage constant for at least 6 minutes after each step.
- Stage 3: DC 650 V to 800 V, increase in steps of 50 V.
- Keep the voltage constant for at least 6 minutes after each step.
- Stage 4: Maintain DC 800 V for 1 hour.
