| Gear unit factor |
Gear unit factor for standardizing position, speed and acceleration values. The value represents the "units" (in thousands) that a rotary axis needs to make exactly one revolution. "Units" can thus be regarded as user-specified units such as µm, mm, inch, angular degrees or revolutions.
• Position
- A target position thus results directly from the number of units specified
• Speed
- The speed is standardized to "units"
• Acceleration and deceleration
- The acceleration and deceleration are standardized to "units"
Example 1:
A motor drives a toothed belt pulley directly. A boring unit is coupled 1:1 via a toothed belt. You want a resolution of 0.0001 U (= 1 unit). To achieve a speed of 900 min-1, a value of 150 000 must be entered

Gear unit factor = 10000 – 1000 = 10000000
Example 2:
A motor drives a spindle directly with a pitch of 20 mm/revolution. You want a resolution of 10 µm (= 1 unit). To travel a distance of 7000 µm, the value 7000 (relative to the previous position) can be entered directly.

Gear unit factor = 20000 – 1000 = 20000000
