Performing an optimization
Provided that the system constellation allows it, proceed as follows to perform an optimization:
- Reference the application.
- Measure the load inertia with the aid of the load cycling.
- INFORMATION: A symmetrical load distribution is required for this because the load inertia is now determined via the first inverter.
- If possible, deactivate the position and balance controller and the external encoder to be able to perform isolated adjustment of the speed controller settings.
- INFORMATION: This is not always possible without damaging the machine/system, so this should only be performed by specialists.
- Set the stiffness/zero clearance.
- Determine the time constant of the encoder evaluation.
- Apply the suggested values in the MultiAxisController settings.
- If necessary, activate the position and balance controller as well as the external encoder.
- Adjust the amplification of the position controller to the requirements of the machine.
- Test the settings with slower and faster travel as well as with and without load.
