The "Trace" function of the IEC Editor is used to record and display the states of variables over time in the IEC Editor. This information can then be used to analyze the behavior.

If many variables are recorded, the trace function can have a significant effect on the task runtime. To avoid a task overflow of the HighPrio task, you should check it when the trace function is started. If a task overflow occurs, the task runtime must be increased. The task runtime can be viewed in the task configuration (double-click the "Task Configuration" element in the device tree) in the "Average Cycle Time" column.
