Engineering via the PROFINET interface
In principle, engineering is possible via the PROFINET interface. Engineering via the PROFINET interface is subject to the following limitations:
- Speed
- The PROFINET interface is designed for process data synchronicity and reliability. The PROFINET interface is not optimized for transmission of large amounts of data, such as IEC projects.
- IP stack
- The IP stack is part of the IEC project. If an IEC project is loaded without fieldbus stations, a connection to the device via the PROFINET interface is no longer possible.
- IP address
- The initial IP address is specified in the IEC project. When communication via the PROFINET interface is started, the IP address is rewritten by the PROFINET controller. A connection via the initial PROFINET interface is then no longer possible.
