EU Machinery Regulation
The EU Machinery Regulation (Regulation 2023/1230, "MR") sets special requirements on safety components and machines to protect them from corruption.
The described device integrates safety components that can be used to reduce hazards in machines. The safety subfunctions are implemented only electronically, without the use of software. The functionality of the safety-related components cannot therefore be corrupted via software.
Observe the following:
- Perform a risk assessment and risk minimization of the machine according to ISO 12100.
- Implement suitable technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access to safety-relevant and non-safety-relevant functions, if their manipulation can lead to a hazard according to the risk assessment (see Possible hazards).
