Possible hazards

Access points for manipulations

The device has interfaces that allow remote access to non-safety functions. In this context, "remote access" means that access is made available directly or indirectly via the local communication interfaces of the device with a software function beyond the physical limits of machine, inverter, and brake. These interfaces allow all parameters to be changed without a safety protocol.

Potential hazards

Potential hazards posed by unauthorized individuals with remote access to the software functions include:

  • Manipulation of the speed, resulting in accelerations and decelerations.
  • Unintended actuation of the power section, resulting in hazardous movement at the motor shaft.
  • Unintended actuation of the brake (brake release), resulting in hazardous movement at the motor shaft.
  • Excessive heating of the device and motor, resulting in thermal destruction.
