Setting the brake chopper response threshold V_br
Pay attention to the following information when setting the response threshold V_br of the brake chopper:
- The voltage level of the brake chopper (response threshold) must be set above the maximum supply voltage. Here, the tolerances of the power supply unit and of the brake chopper must be taken into account. If the voltage value is set too low, there is a risk that the brake chopper will continuously dissipate current, thereby overloading the resistor.
- If the response threshold is set too high, the DC voltage during regenerative operation can lead to an error message and an overvoltage shutdown on the drive.
Recommendation: When using a 48 V DC supply, set the brake chopper response threshold to 54 V. To do so, turn rotary switch X10 to 5 and rotary switch X1 to 4.
