Limitations
The following control mode-specific application restrictions apply to ELSM® control mode:
- The maximum permitted mass inertia ratio between external and internal inertia is 50.
- Group and multi-motor operation (parallel connection of several motors on one inverter) is not supported.
- It is not recommended to operate several coupled motors with their own inverters that act on the same load and work against each other.
- All applications that require continuous operation below the transition speed (2%) in the open-loop range are not permitted.
- Torque control below the transition speed (2%) in controlled operation is not possible.
- For hoists and hoist-like applications, such as horizontal applications that are subject to external loads, the static load torque on the motor shaft must not exceed 100% of the nominal motor torque.
- Note that for applications that are subject to external loads, such as hoists, ascending conveyors and the like, it that the motor shaft can move by 0.1 revolutions in the load direction. The drive may sag briefly.
Recommended ratio of nominal inverter current to nominal motor current:
- For applications that are not subjected to external loads:
- MOVITRAC® advanced/classic 1:1
- MOVIDRIVE® system/technology 1:1
- MOVIDRIVE® modular 1:1
- For applications that are subjected to external loads (hoists and hoist-like applications):
- MOVITRAC® advanced/classic 1.6:1
- MOVIDRIVE® system/technology 1.2:1
- MOVIDRIVE® modular 1:1
