Function of the DC disconnector

WARNING

Ineffective DC disconnection in the event of a storage unit fault.
Severe or fatal injuries.
  • If there is a storage unit fault, the energy storage unit cannot be disconnected from the rest of the application in an electrically safe manner by opening the DC disconnector, as further connections to the application may still be present.
  • Discharge and short-circuit the energy storage unit in accordance with regulations before performing any service work on the system.

The energy storage system contains a disconnector that can be used to disconnect an intact energy storage unit from the rest of the application. If service work is not being performed on the energy storage system itself, it is sufficient if you disconnect the energy storage unit from the application via the DC disconnector for the duration of the work. In such a case you do not have to discharge the energy storage unit.

If one of the errors shown in the following table occurs, the energy storage unit must be discharged and short-circuited even for service work outside the energy storage system.
