Discharging using the braking resistor

As an alternative to the process using a discharge unit described here, you can also discharge the system using a braking resistor. To do so, perform the following steps:

  1. Discharge the energy storage system to < 3 V using the braking resistor. Observe the "MOVIDRIVE® modular" product manual.
  2. Switch off the voltage supply of all devices in the system.
  3. Make sure that the device is de-energized at all poles.
  4. Check the voltage on the DC link. The voltage must be < 3 V.
  5. Make sure that the energy storage unit is de-energized at all poles at discharge connection socket X2.
    • Discharge fuse F10 must be set to ON.
  6. Perform steps 3 and 4 from the chapters Step 3 and Step 4.
