Procedure in case maintenance has been neglected
Capacitors are used in the inverters. They are subject to aging effects when de-energized. This effect can damage the capacitors if the device is connected directly to the nominal voltage after a longer period of storage. In the event of failure to perform maintenance, SEW-EURODRIVE recommends that you slowly increase the line voltage up to the maximum voltage. This can be done, for example, using a variable transformer with an output voltage that is set according to the following overview. Following this regeneration, the device can be used immediately or, with maintenance, remain in extended storage.
The following graduations are recommended:
- Stage 1: DC 0 V to DC 35 V within a few seconds
- Stage 2: DC 35 V for 15 minutes
- Stage 3: DC 48 V for 15 minutes
- Stage 4: DC 59 V for 1 hour
