When using an MDP92A power supply module
In order to protect the braking resistor from thermal overloading, either a BW...-T braking resistor with an internal temperature switch or a thermal overload relay can be used. The following figure shows an example of the connection of a BW...-T braking resistor to an MDP92A power supply module.

[1] | Temperature switch |
[2] | Braking resistor |
- When the temperature switch responds, the signal is evaluated in the power supply module.
- The power supply module signals the fault E26.4 "External braking resistor fault".
- The MOVIKIT® "PowerMode" or "EnergyMode" software module opens the synchronizing contactors and thus disconnects the energy storage unit from the DC link.
- If the power supply module is configured as a module bus master and the fault transmission mode has been set accordingly (see chapter Module bus faults), the fault will also be forwarded to the module bus slaves. These can then respond with their configured fault response.
- It is not necessary to disconnect the line connection using an external switching device.
