FCB concept

FCB = Function Control Block

The FCB concept describes the modular firmware design of MOVI-C® devices. This feature ensures that a wide range of device functions can be selected or deselected quickly and easily using control words.

Primary functions control and regulate the energy flow, and are designed as individual FCBs. The FCBs can be selected to perform a specific task, such as controlling the voltage at a DC link.

You can switch between different FCBs at any time. Switching to another FCB is performed with a maximum delay of 0.5 ms.

Different priorities are assigned to the FCBs. If an FCB with a higher priority than the currently active FCB is selected, the FCB with the higher priority is activated.

An FCB can also be activated by a firmware-internal function, e.g. due to a fault response.

The FCBs are sorted in descending order of their priority in the following list:

  • FCB 64 Disconnect storage unit
  • FCB 52 Inhibit brake chopper
  • FCB 51 Output stage inhibit
  • FCB 57 Current control
  • FCB 55 Voltage control
