Operating currents with BG1Z

The following tables show the operating currents of the BE.. and BE.H brakes when supplied from the local AC supply system with BG1Z brake control.

The acceleration current IB (= inrush current) flows only for a short time (depending on brake sizes between 100 – 500 ms) when the brake is released.

The values for the holding currents IH are effective values. Only use devices for the current measurement that are suitable for the measurement of effective values.

The operating currents specified below are nominal values. They relate to a coil temperature of +20 °C. If the heat rises above a coil temperature of +20 °C, the operating current increases because the closed loop system integrated into the BG1Z or BS1Z must compensate for the rise in winding resistance due to the temperature.

Key

The following tables list the operating currents of the brakes at different voltages. The following values are specified:

UN

Nominal voltage (rated voltage range) of the brake in V (AC or DC)

IH

Nominal holding current of the brake in A (AC or DC). Effective value of the current in the supply cable to the SEW‑EURODRIVE brake control

IB

Acceleration current in A (AC or DC) when operated with an SEW‑EURODRIVE brake control for high-speed excitation
