Case 2: Brake remains released during the pause (e.g. position control)

If no check mark is selected in the break sections, the brake remains released in these sections. This can also be seen in the missing stop symbols in the diagram.
Since the brake is energized in these sections, these lead to further heating of the brake and must therefore be taken into account for the effective speed nB_m and the cyclic duration factor cdfB.
This results in the following values:
- Effective speed of the brake nB_m = 359.3 min-1, see formula 4.1
- Cyclic duration factor of the brake cdfB = 100%, see formula 4.3
The following operating point of the brake results:
| Permitted cyclic duration factor cdfB_per at 40 °C, 50 °C |
[1] | Operating point with applied brake (case 1) |
[2] | Operating point with applied brake |
The brake is thermally overloaded. Additional measures must therefore be taken, such as the use of a forced cooling fan or reduction of the cyclic duration factor of the brake by omitting position hold control.
