Case 1: Brake is applied during the pause

It is apparent from the stop icons in the diagram as well as the check marks in the table for travel sections 4 and 8 that the brake is applied in these break sections.
The brake is not energized in these sections and thereby does not experience any heating, so these sections are not taken into account for the effective speed nB_m or the cyclic duration factor cdfB.
With an application diameter of d0 = 250 mm, for example, and a gear unit ratio of i = 17.87, for example, the following values result:
- Effective speed of the brake nB_m = 497.6 min-1, see formula 4.1
- Cyclic duration factor of the brake cdfB = 74%, see formula 4.3
- Installation altitude < 1000 m above sea level. NHN → fB_AH = 1
The following operating point of the brake results:
| Permitted cyclic duration factor cdfB_per at 40 °C, 50 °C |
[1] | Operating point with applied brake |
The thermal properties of the brake are thereby non-critical. To that effect, the brakemotor can be used without further measures.
