Only use the basic load ranges for line-operated motors.

Please note: When using drives in potentially explosive atmospheres, the limit values of load range S or the use of overload ranges lead to the risk of explosion. You must use the limit values of load range R for explosion-protected drives.

Depending on the load range, the various brakes exhibit modified operating behavior and, in some cases, restrictions on the application range and the braking torque combinations, as shown in the following tables.

The following characteristic values depend on the load range:

  • Maximum permitted speed nmax,0 and nmax,1
  • Permitted braking work for emergency-stop braking operations and service braking operations Wzul,n and Wzul,T
  • Specific wear factor fv
  • Reduction factors and correction factors fMmin and fMmax

The frame‑size‑dependent values for these parameters are provided in the following sections: Limit speeds nmax,0 and nmax,1, Permitted braking work for service braking operations Wper,Z, Permitted emergency stop braking work Wper, n und Load range-dependent calculation coefficients fv, fMmin, fMmax.
