Internal fault detection

The brake module features a fault detection function. This does not take the form of self-diagnosis via the brake module. The fault detection function checks whether the states of the brake module allow the brake to be switched.

The following faults are detected:

Possible causes and remedial measures

Fault response

UZ < 80 V

  • Check the UZ connection.
  • Check the UZ fusing.

x

Load on brake output lower than minimum current

  • Check the brake connection.
  • Check the connection voltage and the current consumption of the connected brake.

x

Overcurrent at brake output

  • Check whether there is a short circuit at the brake output.
  • Check the connection of the accelerator coil and coil section.
  • Check the connection voltage and power of the connected brake.

x

Voltage at brake output too low

  • During acceleration, the output voltage is ≤ 27%.
  • In holding operation, the output voltage is ≤ 71%.
  • Check the UZ connection.
  • Check the brake connection.
  • Internal device fault (replace the device).
