In order to ensure that correct CRC evaluation takes place, you must select the safe distance encoder FBPS617i via the designation. Connect encoder 2 to port SSI_1 and encoder 3 to port SSI_2.

The fault tolerance of the FBPS617i in relation to encoder 2 and encoder 3 must not exceed 2.

Also note the error messages and troubleshooting measures for the encoder in case of encoder error E14.x in the inverter and for encoder faults E14.x and E15.x on the safety option.

Note the extended run-up time when using the encoder in applications with very low temperatures. This can result in an error in the inverter and in the safety option that must be acknowledged.

Proceed as follows to prevent this error:

• First enable the supply voltage of the encoder and afterwards the supply voltage of the inverter.
• The 24 V supply voltage of the encoder is provided externally via a separate M12 connector. The 24 V supply voltage of the encoder must not be fed in via the following voltage sources:
• via the internal supply voltage of the safety option
• via port X65 of the UEA31A combi-box
• You must set the external 24 V for encoder 2/3 to "No" in the "Assist CS.." parameterization tool.
• Increase the run-up time of the encoder in the MOVISUITE^® engineering software according to the encoder's documentation.
