Index: 8521.20, bit 0

Direction of rotation

Select the direction of the generated torque:

  • Positive and negative direction of rotation
  • Positive direction of rotation
  • Negative direction of rotation

The "positive" or "negative" directions refer to rising or falling values of the relevant encoder in DT1.

Index: 8521.1

Torque input relative

Torque of the motor to be generated for testing the brake

The specification is made in "% nominal motor torque". The torque is a relative torque with reference to the motor. Any additional load torque in the application must be taken into account by the user in terms of magnitude and direction when specifying the torque.

Test duration

Time interval for applying the torque to the closed brake

Index: 8521.6 (Int 32)

Measured motor torque relative

Index: 8521.8, bit 1

Test result NOK

Indicates that the brake test has not been passed, e.g. due to excessive movement during the test.

Index: 8521.8, bit 2

Test result OK

Indicates that the brake test has been passed and the brake has been able to hold the torque.

Index: 8521.8, bit 3

  • Positive and negative direction of rotation
  • Positive direction of rotation
  • Negative direction of rotation

Determine load torque

Select whether an application-specific load torque is to be determined automatically by FCB 21 or is to be specified by the user as a constant load torque.

Index: 8521.23, bit 0

Load torque

INFORMATION: Can only be configured if "Determine load torque" is deactivated.

Existing application-specific load torque.

The direction of the load torque is defined by the sign when entered (e.g. -20 Nm).

Index: 8521.24 (Int 32)

Check load torque

INFORMATION: Can only be configured if "Determine load torque" is deactivated.

Select whether the configured "load torque" is to be checked by FCB 21 using its own measurement.

Index: 8521.30

Permitted load torque tolerance

INFORMATION: Can only be configured if "Check load torque" is activated.

Permitted tolerance for the load torque

The configured value is taken into account as a ± tolerance for the specified "load torque".

Index: 8521.31 (Int 32)

Test duration

Time interval for applying the torque to the closed brake

Index: 8521.6 (Int 32)

Duration of torque buildup

Time interval for building up the torque against the applied brake

Index: 8521.25 (Int 32)

Duration of torque reduction

Time interval for reducing the torque against the applied brake

Index: 8521.26 (Int 32)

Activate test for 2 brakes

Activate testing of a second brake. The second brake is tested automatically after the first brake.

INFORMATION: Testing 2 brakes requires additional wiring for separate control of the brakes. For further information, refer to chapter Brake test.

Index: 8521.32, bit 0

Brake 1/brake 2 (settings of specific test parameters for brake 1/2)

Encoder selection

Select the relevant encoder that checks for possible movement during the test:

  • Actual speed source
  • Actual position source

Index for brake 1: 8521.29

Index for brake 2: 8521.59

Actual speed source

Displays the current encoder assignment for "actual speed source" in DT1

Index: 8565.2

Actual position source

Displays the current encoder assignment for "actual position source" in DT1

Index: 8565.3

Permitted movement during testing

Permitted movement during the brake test

If the value is exceeded, the test result is NOK.

Index for brake 1: 8521.27 (Int 32)

Index for brake 2: 8521.57 (Int 32)

Mechanical backlash

A mechanical backlash can be entered. The value is added internally to the "permitted movement during testing".

Index for brake 1: 8521.28 (Int 32)
