Connection to power terminals

The power cable connection terminals for the supply, motor, braking resistor, and DC link are implemented either as connectors or as terminal studs, depending on the size.

Up to and including size 4, power cables are connected via connectors.

From frame size 5 onward, power cables are connected via terminal studs. For size 8, two of these are provided per connection. It is possible to connect 1 or 2 conductors per terminal stud.

Note that for inverters from size 5 onward, degree of protection IP20 is only achieved if the terminal studs (for connecting the supply, motor, braking resistor, and DC link) are protected against contact by optionally available plastic covers, and if the ring lugs are insulated with heat-shrink tubing, see the Product manual > chapter Fitting plastic covers for degree of protection IP20 and chapter Standard accessories.
