Standards and state-of-the-art

The standard EN ISO 13849‑1 contains explanations of safety concepts and the required tests. It does not contain detailed information about designing a brake test for safety-related brake systems.

Various publications such as the German social accident insurance (DGUV, Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung) or the Institute for occupational safety (IFA, Institut für Arbeitsschutz) of the DGUV, among others, describe options for implementing a safety-related brake system as well as a brake test.
