Definition of the characteristic values M4100 °C and M1

The following characteristic values are used:

  • Static braking torque M4,100°C: statistically lowest occurring value of the static braking torque in holding-brake operation, referenced to a friction surface temperature of +100 °C
  • Dynamic limit torque M1: statistically lowest occurring value of the dynamic braking torque during emergency-stop braking

According to the definitions of the terms, these are not "worst-case values" but rather characteristic values that will, with very high probability, not be undershot during operation. Individual static and temporal values below the characteristic value are possible.

Within the application, the characteristic values M4,100°C and M1 are combined to enable various test and calculation steps:

  • Static application factor fAs for checking the holding function
  • Dynamic application factor fAd for checking the emergency stop function
  • Output factor fbrake, output for checking the output load during emergency stop
  • Reduction factor fMmin and correction factor fMmax for determining the braking time, stopping distance, and braking deceleration
