Disconnecting energy storage units

WARNING

Electric shock when connecting or disconnecting energized power connections.
Severe or fatal injuries.
- Disconnect all supply voltages.
- Make sure that the devices of the system are de-energized.
- Never connect or disconnect the power connections while they are energized.
- Never disconnect the power connections if you do not know the actual state of charge of the energy storage unit.
- Discharge the energy storage units to less than 3 V before disconnecting them from the DC link.
The energy storage unit may only be disconnected after it has been discharged to less than 3 volts. Due to the physical properties of the storage cells used, the energy storage units can re-establish voltage after discharging. Therefore, short-circuit the discharged energy storage units. Observe the specifications in chapter Discharging energy storage units before service work for this purpose.
