Starting conditions

Pay attention to the following starting conditions before activating the brake test.

  • The machine must be in a suitable test position that makes a movement possible during the active brake test. The performance of the brake test must not put persons at risk.
  • Startup of the inverter and the CS..A safety option has been performed correctly.
  • The inverter is ready for operation.
  • No error or warning is active on the inverter and the CS..A safety option.
  • Activate a suitable drive function (e.g. FCB 02) at the inverter, which allows the brake test to be performed.
  • The brake test is canceled if a drive function with a priority higher than FCB 23 is activated. Chapter "FCB concept" in the product manual contains the current drive functions in the inverter as well as further information on the FCB concept.
  • Pay attention to compatibility with the safety sub-functions. Observe chapter "Project planning for functional safety" > "Brake test diagnostics function" > Safety sub-functions.
