Fitting plastic covers for degree of protection IP20

To achieve degree of protection IP20 according to EN 60529 with the following modules, plastic covers must be used to prevent the connections from being touched:

  • MDP90A-.. power supply modules of size 3 and larger: Line connection X1, braking resistor connection X3
  • MDP92A-0250-.. power supply modules: Energy storage unit connection X4_B
  • DC/DC converter module MDE90A-0750-..: Connection for energy storage unit X13
  • Power supply modules with energy recovery, MDR91B-.. and larger: Line connection X1, braking resistor connection X3
  • MDA90A-.. axis modules of size 4 and larger: Motor connection X2

Proceed as follows:

  • The plastic covers are included in the accessory bag.
  • The ring lug is insulated with heat shrink tubing.
  1. When using cables with a large cross section, or if cables are laid in pairs, use diagonal cutting pliers to remove the template [1] from the plastic covers.
  2. Attach the plastic covers.
