Discharge process when connecting the braking resistor to the brake chopper of the MDP92A power supply module
The MDP92A power supply module with controlled DC link has a connection for an external braking resistor. The energy storage units can be discharged using the braking resistor.
While discharging energy storage units using the braking resistor, the connection between the system and the external energy storage units must not be interrupted or disconnected. The energy storage units must not be disconnected from the DC link until they have been discharged completely.
The energy storage units can only be fully discharged if the 24 V supply to the MDP92A is permanently available. When using the MDS90A 24 V switched-mode power supply module, you can ensure the discharge process is complete by additionally connecting it to the DC busbar via the pin "+UB" of the MDP92A power supply module or directly to the AC grid.
Discharge can be activated via the braking resistor in two ways.
