Boost mode function

The application can be made available with higher power for a certain time using the boost mode. In this way, the voltage can be increased back to the required level again more quickly after undershooting the minimum voltage limit.

The boost mode is activated using parameter 8804.6 "Boost mode enabled".

Parameter "8804.7 Boost mode status word" indicates whether the boost mode is active.

The operating mode in which the boost mode works can be set using parameter 8804.10.

  • Boost to voltage setpoint: If this function is activated, the current voltage setpoints remain valid. As long as the boost mode is active, control to the setpoint also continues to take place.
  • Boost to minimum voltage: If this function is activated, the maximum permitted voltage is internally overwritten with the minimum profile values. As long as the boost mode is active, control to the minimum profile values takes place.

If the minimum voltage is undershot with boost mode enabled on the A-side or B-side, only the respective application limit is active for power and current limitation on this side, not the profile value.

Boost mode is deactivated when the current and power profile values are undershot and the minimum voltage is exceeded.

Boost mode can also be used in conjunction with a MOVIKIT® software module.

In order to transfer control of the boost mode to the software module, the minimum application limit of the voltage must be set to "0 V". This is necessary, for example, if a storage unit which can be switched on and off is connected to the DC link.
