DC power inputs

If an external storage unit is connected to connection X4_B of the MDP92A-.. power supply module or X13 of the MDE90A-.. DC/DC converter module, which is to be activated via a circuit breaker, DC switch or DC contactor, the activation process must take place via the "Storage unit synchronization" function that is contained in the MOVIKIT^® PowerMode and EnergyMode modules.

The relevant connection is described in the documentation of the storage units. Storage unit synchronization can be omitted if it is ensured that the storage unit can only be activated with a fully discharged system and energy storage unit.

If a DC grid is to be connected to the DC power input X13 of a DC/DC converter module MDE90A-..., the inrush current must be limited when activating the DC grid.

This limitation can be achieved by means of a power resistor that can be jumpered once the input capacitance at the grid side has been charged. The power stage enable of the MDE90A-... must be revoked until the power resistor is bridged. An individual MDS90A-.. switched-mode power supply module can be operated while pre-charging is in progress. Other consumers on the DC link may not consume power during this time.
