Peak braking power
The maximum peak braking power that can be achieved is specified by the resistance value and the DC link voltage, and is calculated as follows:
Pmax | Maximum peak braking power that the braking resistor can absorb |
UDCL_max | Maximum DC link voltage: 980 V for 400 V units |
R | Braking resistance value |
The maximum peak braking power that is required by the application results from the regenerative sections within a cycle, and must be smaller than the maximum achievable and measurable peak braking power of the braking resistor.
The peak braking power for each braking resistor is specified in the chapter "Braking resistors".
