Brake control / brake application time
The design of the "safe disconnection of power supply" safety sub-function is optimized for the control of brakes from SEW-EURODRIVE with 3-wire technology.
The SBM safe brake module is certified for this, taking into account the various brake application times. The certification is valid regardless of the type of control (single or dual channel/1 or 2 control cables).
In the evaluation of the overall system, in the worst-case scenario the brake application times according to the following overview are permitted for the configuration of the braking distance with safe control via SBC. The brake-specific switching times can be found in the documentation for the brake.
