General requirements

The user must assess the effects of the following scenarios for all encoders not approved by SEW-EURODRIVE:

• Overvoltage at the encoder
• Short circuit at the encoder interface

Users can perform this assessment with the aid of the respective product documentation or by testing.

Furthermore, it must be ensured that the system moves at a speed greater than the minimum speed at least every 3 months.

The minimum speed at the motor shaft must have the following values:

• EI7C FS built-in encoder: 50 min-1
• All other encoders: 10 min-1

This also limits the minimum speed in user units.
