Approved device types for single-point parallel connection

To increase the feed-in power, 2 or 3 TES31A decentralized supply units can be galvanically connected in parallel.

  • Ensure that only identical unit types (same frequency, power and current) are connected in parallel.

The units are labeled with designation plates for better identification. For further information regarding the pictograms on the designation plates, refer to the "MOVITRANS® line TES31A Decentralized Supply Unit" operating instructions.

Exceeding the resulting line cable current
Destruction of the line cables and pick-ups
  • Make sure that the resulting line cable current corresponds to the nominal current of the connected line cable and the coupled pick-ups.
  • Parallel connection of three supply units of type TES31A160-EF3-5B3-A: The resulting line cable current must not exceed 85 A. Set the setpoint input in the master to 94% to provide a resulting line cable current of 85 A and to limit the load current per station to approx. 28 A. For further information, refer to chapter Setting a setpoint.

Notes on device safety:

  • The "Sync mode" synchronization parameter is set to "SP slave" in the factory for the device types listed in the table.
  • On an SP master or an SP slave, "SP slave" is always set automatically after a factory setting.
  • To startup and enable the single-point parallel connection, it is necessary to set the "Sync mode" parameter on the intended SP master to "manual".
